A new and exciting role has become available at Basingstoke & District Young Carers (BDYC) as one of our Trustees.
BDYC is there to support and maintain a Young Carer’s mental wellbeing by providing family support, information, respite youth clubs and other funded outings such as camps or day trips. It gives the young people a chance to have fun and have a break from their caring responsibilities.
We are a new, small board of Trustees who are looking to broaden our areas of expertise to ensure the stability of this young charity, dedicated to giving these brilliant children and young people, the chance to have fun, take a break, talk about their responsibilities and much more.
The work of a Trustee is imperative to making the charity run smoothly. We ensure there is financial stability, appropriate policies and procedures in place, and following and complying with relevant legislation.
We meet quarterly at the Apollo hotel, Basingstoke at 10:30am-12:30pm.
There is always the opportunity to attend the respite clubs and see how the charity works, as well as other days out or family fun days to attend too!
No formal educational skills or qualifications required, just good, spoken English language, commitment to the organisation, and a good team player.
Previous experience in the charitable sector is desirable, or experience working with children or knowledge of child development, mental health, education, HR, Employment law, finances etc. is not expected but would be useful.
