Community Coordinator


Volunteering as part of our Outreach and Communications Team this role includes helping to promote and profile the work of the bureau within Odiham, Hook and Hartley Wintney to create better engagement and use of the advice service.

Activities Include:
Promote volunteer opportunities.
Promote the advice services and points of access within the community.
Screen and deal with preliminary volunteer applications as requested.
Identify and agree opportunities for our outreach services as directed.
Distribute printed, web and other promotional material about the bureau and volunteer opportunities to community organisations.
Attend at least 4 key community events to promote volunteering and the advice service.
Support the outreach adviser at outreach advice clinics within the community.

We train our Community Coordinators to develop skills and experience across the communications mix and help you to support us within your local community.


Planning, organisational and problem solving skills.
Good interpersonal skills.
Excellent communication skills, orally and in writing.
Approachable and friendly.
Ability to work on own initiative and self- motivating.
Some experience of Office computer skills (excel, word and PowerPoint) and electronic diary management.
Experience of PR or publicity desirable.
A commitment to the aims and principles of Citizens Advice.

This role can be flexible and delivered in hours to suit the individual. Much of the role can be delivered by working from home or within the community. Expected commitment would be approx. 4 days a month.
The person would need to be able to travel around their community so whilst driving not essential thought needs to be given as to how this travel would be undertaken.
