Do you like gardening and have some spare time?
Then why not become a volunteer Friend of Fleet Cemetery and help look after the sadly neglected graves of families that have moved away or are unable to visit.
You can come any time to suit you. All equipment will be provided.
The Friends of Fleet Cemetery group carry out several tasks including:
- Tidying up neglected graves
- Growing plants for use in the cemetery
- Forming regular working parties to tidy up the cemetery
- Adopting a grave and looking after its surrounding area
- Being the "eyes and ears" of the cemetery
- Encouraging others to become a Friend of Fleet Cemetery
Fleet Town Council is responsible for the general maintenance within the cemetery, however the owner of the exclusive rights is responsible for the maintenance of the plot itself and to keep it tidy, also ensuring the flowers or ornaments do not interfere with any other grave space.
