We are looking for volunteers to help facilitate our new 'conversation' club in Church Crookham. Volunteering alongside speech & language therapists the role is aimed at ensuring that our young people attending the club 'have a voice' and feel included. Ideally we are looking for young volunteers between 16 and 20 in order that they can relate to our young people and chat to them about fashion, music and current events relevant to their age group.
Starting on the 31st October the club will run for 10 Tuesday late afternoon sessions, between 4.30pm and 5.30pm in the Acorn Centre, Crookham Junior School, Church Crookham,
Excellent verbal communication skills .
Friendly and caring nature.
The role will enable volunteers to gain an understanding of young people with Down Syndrome. We are also hoping to be able to provide some introductory training on the condition.
