Do you have business, marketing or finance skills? Would you be interested in using and developing your leadership skills in an entirely new way by supporting an effective and vital local charity?
Trustees are responsible for the financial & strategic development of the Bureau, employment of key staff and advisers (volunteers). The Board meets every three months & Trustees are expected to participate actively in at least one sub - committee / working party, which meet on average once or twice in the three months between Trustee Board Meetings.
Being a Trustee enables an individual to learn new skills, use & develop existing ones, particularly leadership skills. We are a small, dedicated and pro-active Trustee Board made up of elected members as well as representatives of Basingstoke & Deane Council, Hampshire County Council, Tadley Town Council, Baughurst Parish Council. We are an incorporated company as well as a charity & member of Citizens Advice UK.
It would be useful to have basic finance and committee skills or the willingness to learn or develop these; business, management &/or research background would be useful, but not essential. Trustees need to be able to make decisions on policy and strategic direction of the Bureau and to work in a professional and confidential manner.
A sense of humour is desirable.
