Basingstoke Young Carers is part of the North Hampshire Young Carers Partnership which brings together Hart Voluntary Action and Basingstoke Voluntary Action, Fruition Youth and The Gaming Zone to provide young carers services across North Hampshire. We provide 3 Young Carer youth clubs in Basingstoke and offer the chance for the young carer to take a break from their caring responsibilities by providing activities, information, support and guidance to the young person and their families. Our youth clubs are run Monday nights 6-8pm (School years 10, 11 & College), Wednesday nights 4:30-6pm (School years 4, 5 & 6), and Wednesday nights 6-8pm (School years 7, 8 & 9).
We work in partnership with schools, colleges, local council departments, doctors and many more, to ensure that young carers are identified and supported. Our aim is to better identify young carers and provide support for young carers to develop emotionally and physically, as well as to take full advantage of opportunities for educational achievement and life success. We also provide information and support to the family to ensure they have all the support and help they need.
