Medical Appointment Drivers for our 'Oldies'

With a number of our local driving schemes still closed due to COVID 19 we are in need of ad hoc drivers to help transport local residents to and from medical appointments..

This role is perfect for someone who is available on an ad hoc basis and cannot commit to a regular, weekly opportunity.

Petrol expenses are reimbursed at 45p per mile for the full trip door to door plus any car parking costs.

Volunteers can pick and choose which journeys to make and you can volunteer weekly, fortnightly or really whenever suits, even just once a month would really help.

Drivers will be provided with training, PPE equipment and must be DBS checked (this will be carried out by ourselves and takes around 48hrs to turn around).

Its a lovely, rewarding role and much needed locally.

Skills

Drivers ideally will have a 4 door saloon car - but we are happy for a 2 door vehicle with the passenger sitting next to the driver. Sometimes a 4x4 can be a challenge but you'd be surprised at how nimble some of our oldies can be.
