Administration and Reception Volunteers

Interested in what is going in Basingstoke and Deane, supporting individuals and community projects to make a real difference in Basingstoke and Deane?

Basingstoke Voluntary Action (BVA) are looking for volunteers to support their work with the local community and charities across the borough of Basingstoke and Deane.

Tasks could include:

• Helping in reception; answering enquiries (phone and in person), directing calls, keeping reception area tidy and up to date, setting up rooms before meetings and clearing away after
• General office duties in the BVA Office
• Finding out what services, activities and/or groups are taking place in the borough to update information on our database/website
• Researching specific subjects to share with the wider team and organisations
• Supporting the promotion of groups and their activities through social media and local paper

Skills

• A minimum commitment of half a day per week, time by agreement 
• Interest in the local community
• Friendly and welcoming with good communication skills
• Smart appearance
• Confident in the use of a computer however training is given on our systems
• Ability to work as part of a team and by yourself
