Do you have a couple of hours to spare on a Thursday afternoon, to come and help at our Community Social Group for older people?
Our Community Social Group in Tadley, is an informal. friendly social group that meets on Thursday afternoon at Bishopswood Court. It is a nice warm relaxed and friendly place for older people to get together over a cupper and a slice of cake. Also included in the afternoon will be various activities, such as card games, quizzes, indoor kurling, entertainers and much more besides.
As a volunteer you will be part of a team, helping to deliver a fun and engaging afternoon with activities and refreshments. As well as, providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere and helping to create a safe space where people can have the opportunity to sit and have a chat.
We are looking for people who can engage easily in conversation and who:
- Enjoy meeting people
- Have a friendly and helpful approach
- Enjoy hosting and be able to help to kick-start conversations
- Enjoy working as part of a team
- Able to recognise the needs of older people and the challenges they face
- Age restrictions
Not suitable for under 18s
- DBS check required
A basic DBS check is required

Afternoon Helper starts at 1:30pm and finishes at 4pm The Afternoon Helper role is run on a monthly rota, we ask for a minimum of at least twice a month commitment to this role
