Havant and East Hants Mind are recruiting volunteers for the role of Peer Supporter to work within our Adults Wellbeing Team. As a peer supporter, you will be using your own experiences of mental health issues to support, encourage and inspire other people experiencing a mental health issue. You will do this by planning and running group and activity sessions in line with the needs of participants to;
- support participants to develop coping strategies and mechanisms that they will be able to apply in their everyday lives,
- provide participants with tools and coping strategies to play a more active role within their communities, through participation in groups and activities
The main responsibility of this role is to support our wellbeing team with the facilitation of weekly peer support groups. The opportunities are currently in Alton, Bordon and Petersfield. There are many other key duties of a Peer Supporter to be undertaken in order to utilise and develop your pre-existing skills
