At Heather House we support the needs of 16 young residents with visual impairment, complex needs and a shortened life expectancy.

All our residents enjoy, value and benefit from time spent with Befriender Volunteers. Your visit might be on a "one to one" basis where you might chat, share a DVD, music or story or might be with a group of residents and staff sharing activities such as music, art and crafts, cookery, manicures etc.We also have interactive boxes in place to help our befrienders interact better with our residents. We welcome volunteers to visit during the week in the evenings and at weekends. Commitment can be weekly, fortnightly or whatever fits best for you, most volunteers come in for one to two hours.

This role may also see you supporting residents to local activities such as the garden centre, local shops, library or cafe.
