Buddy Befriender - Rushmoor

Are you a friendly person who likes to chat? Can you spare an hour or two a week?

We are looking for people to join our friendly team of volunteer Buddy Befrienders who will support members of the Rushmoor community who have lost their confidence in going out. Because they are unable to access local facilities and social opportunities, they find themselves lonely and isolated.

As a Volunteer Buddy Befriender, you will be assigned to a resident, who you will accompany on a number of planned trips out. You will be providing reassurance and support during these outings. The eventual aim is that they will feel confident to be able to go out on their own again.

Trips may be via public transport, walking or meeting at a venue.

We are looking for people who can create a supportive environment for people who have lost their confidence when they go on their first trips out.
