Community Research Volunteer

English Heritage is committed to ensuring that Free to enter and Locally Managed Sites are, wherever possible, placed at the heart of local communities. To help us achieve this we are looking for a Community Research volunteer to work closely with the Free Sites South for Hampshire. The research you undertake will help us develop, grow and sustain our links within the community and with local groups and help them to make the most of their sites.

This role will be covering 2 sites fairly local to each other, Fort Brockhurst  (Gosport,) and Royal Garrison Church ( Portsmouth) but the role is home based.

Skills

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed person with excellent organisational skills and an eye for detail. Skills and Requirements:

  • Computer literate with knowledge of MS Office including word and excel
  • Your own home computer
  • A confident communicator both in person and on the phone

Have an interest in Heritage.

Availability Details

The amount of time you give to this role is flexible but ideally you will be available at least half day per week during office hours and can be agreed upon with the Volunteer Manager.
