Dementia Support Volunteers

Are you a warm and friendly person who enjoys chatting with older people, who may have some memory loss? In hospital, patients with dementia may experience disorientation, memory difficulties and while their families may be able to provide considerable support, a little extra help from a volunteer would be welcomed! Hampshire Hospitals have set up a network of specially trained volunteers across the three hospitals in Winchester, Basingstoke and Andover who work alongside clinical staff providing social support. This could be simply chatting and reminiscing with patients, involving them in activities and generally befriending them. Volunteers support and are happy to sign post relatives and carers for further information.
