District Secretary

This is a key role in Scouts in Basingstoke East District, it involves attending the six district executive meetings each year, sending out agendas, meeting minutes etc. The role is also the central point of access for Hampshire County Scouts and Scout Headquarters, the District Secretary would be responsible for disseminating the information down to those who it applies to.

The person in this role is responsible for gathering all of the required information for our Annual Report and for coordinating the organisation of our Annual General Meeting. The candidate would be responsible for submitting the Scout District Annual return to the Charities Commission.


The successful candidate would need to be efficient at taking meeting minutes and be computer literate in order to type and circulate meeting documentation. There are no qualifications required, but it is important that the person is able to translate what goes on in the meeting into the minutes in a timely fashion.
