Parity’s Mytchett day service has a fairly large outside area that needs regular upkeep. The gardening volunteer role is a great opportunity for someone who likes to be outdoors and enjoys generally taking care of a garden area.
The manager will agree a suitable schedule with the volunteer. Keeping the outside areas of the day service maintained will probably require a couple of hours each week.
The work will include clearing leaves, weed control and ensuring shrubs and hedges are kept tidy.
Students, supported by staff, may be involved in selecting plants and planting up, as part of their activities when at the day service. The volunteer will be welcome to join in, but won’t be required to.
Parity will provide any necessary tools and equipment. The volunteer will also have access to hot and cold drinks and potentially enjoy the results of our students’ cookery sessions too.
