The governing board at Cranford Park Primary School in Yateley is looking for new governors to join them from the local community who can offer ‘life experience’ to the work of the school. The governing body meets 6 times a year and governors would also be expected to join one of the committees (resources or curriculum depending on where their skills lie) which are a further 6 meetings.

What do we need from you?

  • An interest in and commitment to helping children achieve their very best in all aspects of school life – you will join us as a champion for our children
  • An ability to listen to the ideas of others and pose questions in response – nothing is too silly to ask! Thinking ‘outside the box’ is strongly encouraged too

What we offer:

  • A friendly, welcoming group of governors, all committed to making a positive difference to children’s lives
  • Pacey, well-chaired meetings, allowing everyone to contribute, whilst making the most of everyone’s precious time
  • Plenty of support and training

Contrary to popular thought, you don’t have to be a parent, or connected to the school in some way to be a governor.

For the school, the main advantage of having you join our governing board, is the expertise and experience you can bring to the role. Finance experience would be a particular asset but we are looking for people with a variety of skills so this is not crucial.
