Grants and Funding Coordination Administrator

Are you someone with excellent organisational and admin skills? Do you have an interest in supporting the local voluntary sector to find and promote funding information? At BVA we need a volunteer to help us to maintain an awareness of grants and funding opportunities to the local Voluntary and Charity community. This will encourage groups to apply.

This voluntary role is to assist with researching, checking and publicising the information via the BVA website, Facebook and a regular funding newsletter.

The whole task will involve a regular review of funding advice and online research of grant sources including other websites and maintenance of website with details of the grants and funds researched. Full support will be given so that you can be a part of this valuable contribution towards sustainability for many local community groups.

Funding for all voluntary, community and charity organisations is extremely tight due to the current economic climate, making this role of great value.

Once grants and funds are known, information will be collated and made public to BVA registered organisations via the website and Facebook and production of a monthly summary in the BVA newsletter. In addition, we want to offer hints and tips on grant aid or sponsorship requirements and review and update documents that will assist organisations. Featured promotions on grants relating to specific subject areas and themed event days etc can also be communicated.

We would ideally like someone to commit to two sessions of three hours a week.

Skills

Ideally experience of working within a voluntary organisation understanding the issues with fundraising and grant applications.

Ideally experience of newsletters, online research and ability to summarise information

However, we welcome willing learners.

Basic experience in posting items to a website would also be of benefit.
