Greenfingers Service User Support Volunteer

Do you enjoy gardening?   We are looking for someone to support our service users at the Greenfingers horticultural therapy and training centre for people with learning disabilities based at the Elizabeth Road allotment in Basingstoke.  You would be supporting service users participate in variety of gardening, horticultural and occasional craft activities planned in order to cater for the varying needs of the attendees.  The role involves working with service users as directed by a team leader/member of staff  to ensure users are working in a safe and careful manner when carrying out tasks such as sowing, planting, weeding, harvesting or other training activities.


  • ability to communicate with people confidently
  • friendly and approachable with a good level of empathy, care and compassion
  • physically able to support service users where necessary
  • ability to use initiative and awareness of the wellbeing of others
