Independent Advisory Group (IAG) Volunteers - Aldershot & Basingstoke

Are you interested in helping the Police develop a better understanding of where you live by joining one of their Independent Advisory Groups (IAG) as a volunteer member?

Hampshire Constabulary are currently looking to recruit young adults (ideally 18-30) into their Volunteer IAGs (Independent Advisory Group). They have two separate groups, one in Aldershot and the other in Basingstoke.

The volunteer IAG role would require a volunteer to attend quarterly meetings at Aldershot or Basingstoke Police Station (the two groups are separate) to discuss and give open and honest advice and opinions on policing issues, such as local community issues, policing policies and procedures and other current topics of policing discussions. As a member of the panel you will be vital in giving an impartial view and opinion on a variety of issues.

They are looking for a number of volunteers for each group who are happy to attend the quarterly meetings, usually lasting for around 2-3 hours during a weekday evening. A small amount of research may be necessary to complete before or after a meeting to gain knowledge of the current topics of discussion which will be referred to during the meetings.

Induction and support given.

Travel expenses getting to and from the meetings (30 miles each way maximum distance).

Ideally young adults between the age of 18 and 30 (minimum age is 18).
