Local Community Radio Station Publicity Officer

This purpose of this volunteer role is to promote our Community Radio Station and build relationships with key media organisations across Basingstoke and Deane area. 

Key activities:

  • promotion of the radio station within the local community
  • developing good relations with local press, radio, TV, internet and other media
  • writing and submitting bi-weekly press release for local paper to promote the station
  • submitting any press releases to the local community publications
  • from time to time, liaising with the station and program manager for content 

Own charity email address provided for correspondence

Could be home based if preferred

Approximate time commitment of 1-2 hours per week


Volunteer would need to have the following skills:

  • good communicator
  • good time management
  • knowledge of recording equipment
  • ability to write clear, concise descriptions and stories for local media
  • ICT skills and email access required
