The Memory Box Project is run by The Wessex Heritage Trust and funded by The National Lottery Community Fund to support people living with Dementia with themed reminiscence sessions.
The role of volunteers is to deliver several roles within the project such as: reminiscence facilitators of sessions to small groups of people living with Dementia and their carers in venues across Hampshire and Dorset. Admin based volunteers who will carry out general tasks such as box inspections, laminating etc. and research volunteers who are interested in volunteering remotely by researching aspects of our themes and helping to creating factsheets for the boxes. The administration role can be carried out either at home or at our office in Southampton.
The aims of the project are to engage with, support & share memories with people living with Dementia with the view to improving the individuals wellbeing.
Good communication skills essential.
