The Hampshire Hoppit is a trail marathon and half marathon race that starts, and finishes, in Kingsclere. The route is across 26-miles of Hampshire's most beautiful countryside, and the date is Sunday 20th June 2021. It attracts 1200 runners from all around the UK.
Race marshalling and water/feed stations are a very important role that is hugely appreciated by all runners on the day. We always feel that these helpers are the most important volunteers because they are not the 'back room' staff, instead they are the human face of the Hampshire Hoppit and are very highly visible
On race day we require 50 marshals around the course, and a further 20 helpers who will assist with water/feed stations. Volunteers must have a car to get to their location. Full briefing and support will be provided. Marshals and helpers can expect to be in position for between 2-5 hours, depending on the location for which they are responsible.
In addition, there is a further requirement for the whole weekend of 19/20 June to help with set up/take down on the race HQ.
We are also looking for a van and van driver to help with collection and delivery of materials to/from race HQ and parts of the course. Expenses will be covered
Love of the outdoors. Cheery demeanour to encourage tired runners. Experience of marshalling useful but not essential.
