Join our friendly team at Girlguiding Hartley Wintney to become part of the UK's leading charity for girls and young women. We are looking for leaders to help run our Rainbow (girls aged 4-7), Brownie (girls aged 7-10) and Guide (10-14) units. We go on adventures, play games, learn new skills, and challenge ourselves. We develop our confidence, learn to lead, build friendships and have lots of fun!
We are looking for new leaders to join our Rainbow, Brownie and Guide units in Hartley Wintney at the following times:
- Mondays 6.30-8pm - Guides
- Tuesdays 6.15-7.45pm - Brownies
- Wednesdays 5.45-7.15pm - Brownies
- Wednesdays 7.30-9pm - Guides
- Thursdays 5-6pm Rainbows
- Thursdays 6.15-7.45pm Brownies
Leaders have an active role in planning and running the unit. The tasks are shared out among the whole leadership team and new leaders would be supported on a leadership training programme. Tasks vary unit to unit but could include:
- planning and running activities using the Girlguiding programme
- managing members' information
- contacting parents
- using unit funds responsibly
- taking young members on trips and camps
- organising fundraising events
These tasks are shared out so no one person would be doing all of these things but if a volunteer has an interest in taking on particular tasks we can certainly steer things in that direction. People usually find their niche of what they especially enjoy!
Skills
Teamwork, enthusiasm and good organisation skills!
It's a fantastic way to gain and develop skills, get to know people better in the local community, make a difference in girls' lives and get to have some really exciting opportunities while you're at it!
