Reading Coach

Read Easy Basingstoke provide free one to one reading tuition to local adults who, for whatever reason have never learnt to read.

We are looking for enthusiastic reading coaches to provide the confidential one to one tuition.

Getting involved can be a really enjoyable experience and will give volunteers the chance to transform the lives of individuals in their community.

Volunteers meet new readers in libraries/ coffee shops and community centres in their local area.

What all potential coaches have in common is the love of books and concern for those around them who are disadvantaged by not being able to read. Following a days training the coach is paired with a reader and tuition takes place for 30 minutes twice a week at an approved venue.

Readers learn at their own pace and typically it can take between six months and two years.
