Recording Engineers Wanted!

Would you like to volunteer as a Recording Engineer at FATN Talking News for the Visually Impaired?

We record the local news for our community of visually impaired listeners, and you could be an essential part of our friendly operation. Each week, we produce two, 80-minute programmes containing spoken extracts of the local newspapers for distribution on memory sticks, and via web streaming. You will be responsible for the recording (on to a PC) and production of a master memory stick for bulk copying by others.

Recording Engineers are rostered onto a 4-5 hour recording session once a fortnight (on average) during the day. Very occasionally, other work periods may need to be covered. Rostering is flexible and swaps can be arranged.

Our offices are just off West Street, Farnham, opposite the cemetery and behind the new houses, where there is plenty of free parking.

Please note that there is a high step into our offices which may prove tricky for a volunteer with a physical disability. 

Skills

You don't have to have any previous experience, as full training would be provided. You should be familiar with Windows computers, and be comfortable with technology - even if it's in a completely unrelated field.
