Roof Guide at the Vyne

Opportunity

What is a Roof Guide?

You will help visitors to get up close to the conservation work on the roof and to see the park from a new perspective. You will give safety briefings, guide visitors onto the roof, share the progress of the project and explain what they can see. You will be aware that this will be a new experience for many visitors and will help them enjoy it in their way – whether it is explaining in detail about the lead workings, letting them enjoy the views or helping those that may feel a little nervous about the height.

The roof is the reason for the project and access to the viewing walkways will be a showstopper experience. Our scaffolding will be fully accessible, meaning that anyone can access the roof regardless of age or ability due to the use of a lift as well as stairs at their disposal.

What’s involved?
• Providing a warm and friendly greeting to all visitors to the roof and engaging them in the work we are doing
• Giving safety briefings to visitors and ensuring their safety by following the safety guidelines
• Sharing the story of the conservation project and the progress of the works, relaying technical information so that it is easy to understand

Skills
