We are looking to expand our team of buddy/helper volunteers at our contemporary dance club for young people with down syndrome. The club, delivered by the 'Stop Gap' dance company, runs for on Saturday mornings, during term time, there are two hour long sessions between 11.30am and 12.30pm and 12.45pm and 13.45pm. Volunteers can volunteer for 1 or both sessions.
Our young people (11 upwards) love learning and watching the routines - but often need a little encouragement to engage and learn the new steps. This is where our volunteers come into their own, helping ensure everyone is having fun and that our shyest members are encouraged to meet everyone and get the most from the sessions.
The role is ideal for students including those taking a DofE award.
Excellent communication skills.
Enjoy contemporary dancing and having fun.
Free most Saturday mornings and able to get to the venue which is located in Farnham.

When can I volunteer?
Saturdays between 11.30am and 12.30pm and 12.45pm and 13.45pm. Term time only. Volunteers don't need to volunteer at every session, if they'd rather have the odd week off that's fine :)
