Summer Fete Volunteer Oakley Park

This year the Friends of Oakley Park is holdings its summer fete on Sunday 21st July, midday to 3pm. This is the fourth year we will be holding our fete, which goes from success to success. It is our main fundraising activity each year and allows our other activities – Easter egg hunt, children’s fun run, Christmas tree event and other activities – to be free of charge to participants and helps us to buy things to enhance the park such as benches and play equipment.

We have a great, committed committee, full of ideas and willing to get stuck in. However, we can’t be everywhere at once during the fete, and in order to run every stall and activity that we want to include, we need volunteers who would be able to give us 4 hours on the day (11.30am to 3.30pm) to run ‘traditional’ stalls such as hook-a-duck, coconut shy, soft toy tombola, roll-a-penny, play your cards right, sweet tombola, splat a rat etc. We would have all the equipment/prizes ready for each stall, and a float, so that all the volunteers would need to do is arrive, be briefed and run the stall. One of the committee would be on hand across a group of stalls to allow each stall holder to have an opportunity to look round the fete, take a comfort break etc.
