Could you help Farnborough Library to encourage local children to read 6 books over the summer? Could you make reading fun and inspirational for them?
Tasks include:
- Registering children for the Summer Reading Challenge on a database (laptop)
- Explaining how the Summer Reading Challenge works to parents / carers and children
- Listen to children talking about the books they have read
- Give out stickers to children and update their information on the database
- Award certificates and medals to those children that complete the challenge.
The Summer Reading Challenge is a national scheme produced by the Reading Agency.
The theme this year is Gadgeteers, a science and innovation themed Challenge that will spark children's curiosity about the world around them.
Training will be provided.

Requirements
- Must be 14+.
- IT literate (must be able input data onto a laptop).
- Good communication skills.
- Be able to work as part of a team.
- Friendly and approachable.
- Be able to relate to parents / carers and young children.
- Be punctual and reliable, attending all pre-booked sessions, or notifying staff in good time if unable to attend.
- The Summer Reading Challenge takes place in all Hampshire libraries.
