HRB is a registered charity that broadcasts 24 hours a day to the patients and staff of Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital. We are run entirely by volunteers, who regularly give up their spare time to keep us on air and entertain our listeners.
HRB is one of the most listened to radio stations at Basingstoke & North Hampshire Hospital with a varied audience that changes daily. The main listener source is through the free radio service on the Hospedia terminals, which are installed at almost all beds within the hospital.
The charity is run by a trustee board and has around 35 volunteers.
We are looking for a new Treasurer to take overall responsibility for the finances of the charity, with support from other members of the committee of trustees.
Attending Management meetings 6 times a year and reporting on the financial position of the charity
Managing the bank accounts for the charity; reconciling expenditure vs donations
Developing the annual budget and monitoring performance against budget
Producing the annual accounts for the AGM and liaising with the independent examiner.
Reporting to the Charity Commission
Some knowledge of spreadsheets and accounting practices (no formal qualifications required). Good communicator.
Able to communicate financial information to non-financial people. Problem solving skills. Able to work as part of a friendly team.
