HLSTC is a RYA recognised training centre and Army Sailing Association water-sports club. Many other activities are available including kayaking/canoeing, paddle boarding, wind surfing, water skiing and youth sailing.
We are looking to appoint a replacement Trustee to help increase the club's involvement with the local community, promote our extensive sports facilities and help drive the club forward by effective use of social media, improved communications, and other marketing initiatives.
There is a requirement to attend a minimum of 2 Trustee meetings per year up to a maximum of 6. Meetings can be arranged on Zoom if necessary. However, Trustees may well be involved with the running of the club on a more regular basis; it would be expected that the Elected Trustees would get involved with such things as taking a lead role in a project, representing HLSTC in other Forums or campaigning on our behalf. The Trustees will decide on certain roles, other tasks may come about through discussion with the Centre Principal.
No sailing experience is required but some expertise in marketing and the use of social media would be especially useful.
HLSTC is a charity and a company limited by guarantee. There are 5 elected Trustees who are also Directors, Trustees must be eligible to be appointed as a Director of a company.
Trustees are elected by the membership of HLSTC at the AGM.
