We are looking for new trustees to join our lively board. Is this you? This role will help the Café Project provide opportunities for learning disabled people, by helping to oversee strategic decisions about the running and long-term direction of the project. We currently have a Trustee Board of five and are looking to increase this number in order to ensure we provide the best possible support to our Café Dome staff and volunteers.
Being a charity trustee involves taking ultimate responsibility for how the organisation is run. However, at the Café Project our trustees also get very involved with day-to-day volunteering, which is crucial in helping to support our small team of staff and volunteers. This could involve attending fundraising events, meeting with stakeholders, or seeking new contacts to help the project grow and develop.
Ideally, we are looking to recruit somebody with backgrounds/experience in:
Legal, Catering, Business or HR as
these are skills gaps within the present Board. However, we are very willing to
consider applicants who specialise in other areas.
You should demonstrate an understanding and awareness of the issues facing learning disabled people in relation to finding long-term employment.
You will have willingness to ‘get your hands dirty’ and get involved with the day-to-day life of the Project.
You will also need to be a strategic thinker and confident decision-maker.
