Well-being Centre Receptionist (Farnborough)

Our well-being centres offer a relaxed and friendly base, where a range of services are provided to support people with mental health problems. We are looking for a volunteer receptionist at our well-being centre in Farnborough.  

As a Reception Volunteer, you will be the first port of call for any visitors to Andover Mind. We will rely on you to create a good impression so above anything else you’ll need to have a good rapport with many different types of people helping them to feel looked after and at ease.

Main Activities and Tasks:

  • Greeting visitors, answering all incoming calls.
  • Taking and relaying messages and refer calls to appropriate staff members.
  • Maintaining inventory of office supplies, sorting mail.
  • Signing service users in and out of the centre.
  • General upkeep of the reception area.
  • Photocopying timetables and registration paperwork.
  • Making appointments for people to come in to register with the centre.
  • Creating local promotional material for groups as well as attendance sheets.
  • Charity log - entering information, scanning documents.
  • Writing cards.
  • Checking general stock levels and buying whatever is needed from local shops.
  • Monitoring those entering and exiting the building.
  • To provide support to any individual/team that is required.
  • Help out with any type of administration work.
  • Any ad-hoc duties.


  • Computer skills (google docs/email/internet).
  • Good communication skills.
  • Flexible - willing to carry out any task however small.
  • Relate well to the public and communicate clearly.
  • Patience with those who are unable to communicate clearly or less confident.
  • Represent Andover Mind in a professional manner.
  • Be able to work according to volunteer policies and procedures.
