Young Person's Peer Group Representative

Aged between 16 & 30? Registered with a Yateley or Blackwater GP?

We are on the hunt for a couple of 'younger' volunteers to join our Patient Participation Group (PPG). The main purpose of a PPG being to advise the practice on the patient's perspective and provide an insight into the responsiveness and quality of services the practice offers.

The role will appeal to volunteers who are interested in helping facilitate an improvement in local medical care for families / residents in the Yateley / Blackwater area and who may also be interested in gaining an understanding into how the NHS's 'Primary Care' operates locally coupled with an awareness of the constraints it currently faces moving forwards.

Our committee are keen to ensure that we include the views of younger members of our community and that they too 'have a voice' in how medical services are currently meeting their needs; additionally volunteers will actively be able to help influence changes in local healthcare provision for the future.

The volunteers we're looking to recruit would hopefully provide an insight into what concerns and affects them locally within the healthcare area and to be able to cascade information to their friends / families and peer groups.

We currently meet once every 6 weeks - Monday eve 5-7pm so nothing too arduous and further involvement in specific campaigns / projects is encouraged but only if it fits around your lifestyle.

Ideally you will be aged between 16 and 30 years of age.

Registered at a Yateley or Blackwater GP Surgery.

IT literate - ideally with a good working knowledge of social media.

This is an excellent opportunity for students interested in a career in medicine / health & social care to gain an understanding as to how primary care operates within the NHS.
