Do you enjoy a chat over a cuppa? And do you have an hour to spare a week?
We are looking for people to join our friendly team of volunteer Befrienders to help support members of the Rushmoor Community who find themselves lonely and isolated.
Befriending can either be face to face or via the phone.
As a Befriender you will be helping to improve the quality of life for those who find themselves socially isolated within their homes. Our Befriending Coordinator will match and introduce you to the person who you will visit on a weekly bases for an hour at a time that suits you and the person who you will be befriending.
This is a very rewarding role that brings friendship, company and a chance to chat to a friendly person.
We are looking for people who enjoy quality conversation who are:
- Friendly and empathetic
- Good listeners with non-judgmental approach
- Good communication skills
- Good telephone manner
- Flexible in their approach to volunteering
- Ability to follow service boundaries, policies and procedures
- Understanding of the need for confidentially

Weekdays 'office hours' only at the moment - may become more flexible going forward. Commitment would be once a week.
