Would you like to join our fundraising team to help us raise funds to keep Samaritans of Farnborough & District Samaritans running?
Samaritans of Farnborough & District have been supporting our local community since 1978, working towards a world where fewer people die by suicide. We offer a safe place to talk if people are feeling emotionally distressed or are having a difficult time and need to talk things through in a confidential and safe environment.
The money we raise is different from that of the main Samaritans charity as donations we receive are spent sustaining our own branch. This includes covering the costs of selection and training, the technological systems, and building maintenance.
Tasks could include:-
- Arranging collections in local areas, such as The Meadows in Camberley or The Meads in Farnborough.
- Organising special events, including our annual curry night fundraiser - a chance to socialise with our fellow volunteers over some delicious food while taking part in raffles and auctions.
- When members of the public raise money for us through activities
like sponsored runs, the fundraising team takes care of the donation and makes
sure it’s processed appropriately.
Volunteering at Samaritans of Farnborough & District is an incredibly rewarding experience. We have a team of over 100 volunteers - with an age range of early 20s to over 90, and volunteers from all walks of life, we’re a really varied group.

Once you start volunteering, if you need support there will always be someone who can give you a hand, explain something or just have a chat.
More about Us
Farnborough & District Samaritans is filled with friendly faces, and you’re guaranteed a smile when you walk into the branch. There’s always somebody to chat to and, if you need a little support yourself, someone to give you a helping hand.
