Are you enthusiastic about the education of our children? Motivated to improve school standards? Do you care about the community we live in? We are seeking dynamic enthusiastic individuals from our local community to join our Governing Board.
As Governors our primary functions are to:
- Ensure the clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction of the school
- Hold the Headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils, and the performance management of the staff
- Oversee the financial performance of the school, and to ensure that its money is well spent
As a Governor, you would have access to a wealth of training in all aspects of Governance and school life and we actively encourage Governors to go to training to enrich their experience and the spectrum of knowledge in the Governing Body as a whole.
“No one governor is expected to know it all. The strength of a governing body lies in its ability to attract and rely upon members from a wide variety of backgrounds, share out the duties amongst its members, and be able to take decisions as a group.”
We are seeking individuals to cover a range of experience and expertise and we would also love to hear from people who have previous experience on a governing board. You do not need to be a parent to be a governor. We are a diverse governing board with a broad skillset and supported in our role by regular training courses. Hampshire Governor Services offer full training to assist you in your role as a governor.
