Would you like to help young people with disabilities at music, art or dance sessions?
MADD club is a music, art, dance and drama club for disabled young people aged 5-25 years. Siblings within the age range are also included. Each group has a qualified and experienced tutor leading the activity, supported by a small team of volunteers who spend time assisting with the activity, building confidence and self-esteem.
- MADD Music group meets at the Rock and Pop Foundation on a Wednesday evening: 6.30 - 7.30pm and 7.30 - 8.30pm (both sessions are for ages 8+)
- MADD Musical Theatre group meets at the West End Centre on a Tuesday evening: 6 - 7pm (age 8-25)
- MADD Dance group meets at the West End Centre on a Thursday evening: 5.30 - 6pm (under 8s) and 6.10 - 7pm (8+)
Training and support is available.
Please note that sessions are term-time only.
Skills
You need to be a patient, caring, understanding person, able to work both on your own initiative and as part of a team. You need plenty of energy and an interest in performing arts would be a bonus!
Experience of working with children and young people and/or people with disabilities is preferred but not essential.
