Trustee

We are looking for a number of Trustees to manage Old Down Hall. Currently there are 3 trustees, all of whom are happy to continue in their current roles or equally happy to support new trustees in developing their future roles. The hall is used as a nursery  Monday to Friday during the day and in the evenings opens to a number of groups for classes including keep fit, Pilates, sewing and others. At weekends we often host children’s parties. We are hoping to have plans approved for an extension to the hall which will give a dedicated space to the nursery and free up the current space to offer more options for our community.

We need more trustees, this can be in a general role to support the existing trustees, or can be specific roles ie chair, treasurer, secretary. We meet every 2 months to discuss issues regarding maintenance, policies and future plans. The current chair and treasurer meet monthly to agree finance. Outside of the meetings there is a minimal amount of time required to support the management of Old Down Hall, in the region of 2-4 hours per month. In the last year we have reviewed and documented all our policies, built and published a new web site, completed a legionella risk assessment and made changes to mitigate any risks. These need to be reviewed every 3 years.

 We would be happy to welcome some new trustees to help us further develop community opportunities at Old Down Hall

Skills

Ideally  we are looking for people with any of the following skills:

Marketing

Health & Safety

Accounts/book keeping

Secretarial

A keen interest in developing the community centre for local people.

Training

The new trustees won’t have to attend training courses but there will be opportunities to develop their skills if they would like to.

 Training will be provided by the current trustees if required
