The purpose of this role is to provide support to community groups and other organisations in Rushmoor, who are looking for one-off or short-term volunteers to help them at events and activities. You can also be called to action when an urgent appeal arises, like the Ukraine appeal.
Your tasks could include:
- Car park marshalling
- Representing organisations on a stall
- Answering questions of event attendees or checking tickets
- Campaign collectors and sorters (e.g. The Poppy Appeal)
- Decorating for an event
- Running games or face painting
- Conservation tasks
- Serving refreshments
- Collecting/distributing food or clothing
- Support vaccination promgrammes for the NHS or other health services
- And all sorts!
You could be asked to support at:
- Sports events
- Music festivals
- Remembrance service
- Community events, such as Victoria Day
- Season events, such as Christmas or summer fetes
- Litter picks
- Health services events
- Conservation sessions
- And more!
Once you have been signed up as a Responder, you will receive information of all opportunities when they arise. You can 'respond' if something catches your eye and you are available.
