We are running a new youth project in Darby Green, Blackwater for 16-25 year olds. The club is held term-time only in a function room at St Barnabas Church.
Commitment is just once or twice a month depending on your preference and the role involves engaging with our young people, setting and clearing up, serving drinks and working with a great team of youth workers. The role is on a rota basis so there is no weekly commitment.
The youth club is a café format with some low-level activities including board games, mindfulness colouring and simple crafts. The café is designed to be a listening ear for older young people who may have had a tough day, or need to get out and socialize for a little while.
Ability to interact with the young people and work well as a team. Sense of humour and willingness to have fun is key!
Volunteers must be 18+ but we're happy to accommodate uni students home for the holidays. Any training in mental health first aid is desirable but not essential.
